Well, Miss Ogden. I think Dana is a bully because of his mom. I know of this because Dana’s mom grumbled at Roy when he answered the door, and she laughed at Dana because he got punched in the face by Roy. So I think Dana takes his anger out on kids. If I had to defend against the bully I would tell my parents or I will tell the principal/teacher.

I think Dana is a bully because he has a older brother and his mom is mean at times. When Roy came to Dana’s house he and his mom were fighting over the apology letter and that shows that his mom is mean. He also probably gets in fights with his brother and that is why he is a bully. To deal with a bully is hard because they are annoying and they always beat you up so a good way to deal with a bully is to walk away from them or don’t make any contacted.

I think Dana is a bully because his family. For example, his older brother might have been mean to Dana in younger years or his brother was a bully himself. Also, his mom didn’t look very nice either like she wrestled with him when Roy brought Dana the note. I think one way to deal with a bully is to ignore him/her or act okay when they bully you. Another way is to tell somebody like a parent or a teacher they can probably stop the bully.

I think that Dana is a bully because he is the youngest at his house, and he does not get treated well by his parents, and his brothers. That’s why I think Dana is a bully. I think the best way to deal with a bully is to stay away from them. Roy can deal with him by being nice, and if he tries to bully him he could tell a teacher so that he would stay away from Roy. That’s how I think he can deal with a bully.

I think that Dana is the school bully because he just wants to get attention. I think that he wants attention because he wants to be cool and not be like anyone else. Also he wants to hurt people’s feelings. I think this because when he was picking on Roy, Roy was feeling upset and uncomfortable because he was so used to just reading his comic and mystery books, but that day Dana came up and grabbed Roy behind and squeezed his head like a soccer ball. Dana is a very mean bully.

I think Dana is a bully because of these reason. When Roy was on the bus the author told us that Dana would bully little kids on the bus and at school including Roy. When he was watching the running boy run from the school bus Roy was going to see and talk to him, but then Dana came up and attacked Roy because that is what he does. He also is a bully because he uses his words like “your dead” and other bad and hurtful language. The best way to deal with Dana and her kind is very easy. One way is to hang out with a group of friends or people because a bully won’t fight you in a group because if he\she beats up a kid in that group then the people might tell or beat them up. Another way is to notify a teacher or parent about the bully so they can keep a close eye on you to make sure they don’t bully you again. That’s why Dana is a bully and ways to stop a bully.

I think Dana is a bully because he has a bad life at home. I think this because when Roy dropped off the letter of apology, Dana’s mom laughed at Dana when she found out little tiny Roy broke his nose. Also, when Roy dropped off the letter, Dana and his mother immediately fought about it.
I think that the best way to deal with a bully is to ignore them. If they don’t get a reaction from you, they may stop. Also, you could stand up for yourself. They may be shocked enough to leave you alone, to avoid the possible embarrassment.

Well, I think that Dana is a bully because he has a bad home his mom was beating him up when Roy gave him the note. Imagine having a mom that childish I wonder what his dad is like.
The best way to handle a bully is to not give him/her what they want and what I mean is don’t cry or get mad just deal with it and they will want to stop and if they don’t stop here is another way tell an adult or someone with more authority so they will keep an eye on whoever is bullying you.

In Hoot Dana chooses to bully Roy for many reasons. One reason I think Dana bullies people is to live up to his older brothers. He has three older brothers, and all of them are just as mean and gruff as him so I think he wants to prove himself to them. Another reason why I think Dana bullies other children is because he does not come from a very good and supporting home. For example, his mother makes fun of him and they seem to hurt each other and fight often. For instance, when Roy went to drop off the apology letter at Dana’s house his mother tackled him to grab it. So that is why Dana chooses to take out his anger on other people. Two different ways to deal with bullies is to tell an adult or teacher to talk to them or avoid them, be polite, and try to stay out of mess. These are the best ways because you can just stay clear of the bully’s path and out of trouble too.

In Hoot Dana is a bully, because Dana bullies people to live just like his three older brothers, all the brothers are just as mean to people just like Dana or if not meaner. So Dana looks up to his brothers and wants to be like them, because he thinks they are cool and wants to be just like them.
The first reason is what is the best way to handle a bully is to go tell a adult what is happening at school, for example this big mean kid keeps shoving you into the same stinky disgusting locker every day, so u go tell an adult and they will fix that problem for you, Also another reason to best deal with bullies is to if the bully or bullies approach you just walk away from them and then they just leave you alone and go bug another kid.

I believe that Dana is a bully because on pages 46-47, Dana’s mom was not very nice to Dana and Roy when Roy came to their house to give Dana the apology note. Basically, Dana’s home life is not good, and it makes Dana upset, and therefore, he takes his feelings out on other kids.
To simply deal with a bully, I would have not done what Roy did to Dana; he punched him in the face. What you should do is scream to get someone’s attention, to help you get out of the bully’s possession. Another thing to do is later tell the bully how you feel. If they don’t listen, and don’t have a soft side, tell a teacher or adult you trust. They will take charge of where you left off.

I think the best way to deal with a bully is to just ignore him or her. Bullies bully you to get a reaction, whether it is crying or yelling or something else. If you ignore a bully, then they won’t get a reaction out of you, so they will leave you alone. Also, you could tell the bully how mean he or she has been acting and you could advise an alternative to their bullying, like a hobby or a sport.

I think Dana is a bully because he has troubles at home. I think this because when Roy dropped of the note at his house his mom started beating him up and he also has two older brothers who probably beat him up too.
The best way to deal with a bully is to stand up to him like Roy did to Dana. Another good way to deal with a bully is to tell someone who can help you because it’s not fair if they keep breaking the rules and they don’t get in trouble for it.

I think that Dana is a bully because he has family problems at home. Like for example, when in the book, Roy went to drop off an apology letter to Dana and he and his mom were wrestling, and fighting. If Dana didn’t have family problems, he probably wouldn’t be actually physically fighting with his mom. I think that his family problems make him go to school and want to take all his anger out on all the kids. He might also have been bullied before or at home, like when his mom an him were fighting, and because he was bullied, he wants to make himself feel better, by putting other kids through the same thing. I think that the best way to deal with a bully is to stand up for yourself, but like Roy had said, not go so far that you end up being mean also. You should just ignore them and walk away. If it is getting too bad and can actually threaten your life, like Roy is going through, you should definitely tell an adult so they can take care of it for you and you don’t get hurt at all, physically or emotionally.

I think that Dana is a bully because Dana mom is mean like when Roy went to give the apology letter they were fighting to open the letter and see what Roy wrote. So Dana could bring all of his anger tours Roy because he is mad at his mom. I think the best way to stand up to a bully is to tell your parents so they could help you out with it. Another way to deal with a bully is to try to ignore the bully because they are just looking for a reaction.

I think Dana is a bully because he was strangling Roy. He hassles all the smaller kids on the bus. The best way to deal with a bully is either to stand up to him or her or just ignore them and walk away.

I think that Dana might be a bully because that is the way his mother acts at home, so it might’ve rub off on him growing up. I know that Dana’s mom acts like a bully as well because it said they were wrestling on the front porch when Roy was leaving.
I think that two good ways to deal with a bully are to either walk away and ignore him, or
Stand up to him and tell him to leave you alone. If he is just calling you names or making fun of you, the best choice would be to pretend he isn’t even there, and later walk away. If he grabs you or hits you, you should grab his arm and say, GO AWAY!
